Christmas

This Christmas is by far one of the best since I was a child. I think we all had our best Christmases in our childhood because back then we truly believed in Santa Claus, we tried to be good for him to visit us, we lived surrounded by magic.  Growing out that world isn’t always pleasent. You realize that people can be mean, that the good don’t always win and that magic can easily dissapear like sand grains through our fingers…

Lately I came to the conclusion that it’s only a matter of believing. Try to be good, not only at Christmas, but through the entire year. Do the things you love most, not everyday, but once in a while. Make time for yourself, discover the inner you. Try to become a better person by learning from your own mistakes and why not from other’s mistakes too. Control every negative feeling you might have, calm down and act after that. Sorround yourself with positive people, who have dreams and aspirations, who fight for whatever they believe in. That’s very important: to fight for what you believe in.  Don’t forget to be grateful for every small act of generosity of thing you’ve received. Say “thank you” more often and say it from the heart. Give. Don’t expect for someone to ask for help, just think what would they need and give if you can. It feels good and joy you see on someones face counts more than all the money in the world.

I’m not against being more generous around these Holidays. I know some just give for them to feel better, to know that they’ve done something, but that’s better than nothing. They made someone smile, they filled someone’s need, they made someone think that there are good people in the world too. Does it really matter the reason behind the action? Does it matter that they’ve been giving just for their own selfishness, for them to feel that they are better people? To me it doesn’t matter. I just want to see happy people. I want to see that everyone’s happy.

I wish everyone from my heart a Merry Christmas. I hope this Christmas finds you all at home, with your family and your Christmas Tree. I hope you all receive lots of gifts, enjoy the time with your dear ones and take some time to put in balance this last year. Remember the good and bad, the happy and the sad, what mattered in the end and what not and wish yourself for next year to be a little more wise.

For those who can’t be home, near their families…I wish them a lot of strenght, health and warmth. My thoughts are with you too.
